Sangria.

Memorial day weekend was my first time making Sangria and boy was it delicious! I think this will be my new favorite drink to share with friends. Can’t wait to try different fruits and flavors according to the season. We had our very first BBQ with some friends and it was a hit! What’s in it you ask!?!

Recipe

  • 2 bottles of your favorite or good enough red wine
  • Fruit of choice – I used apples and strawberries
  • 1 c fresh squeezed orange juice or store bought
  • 1c brandy (more if you like)
  • 1c rum (for the men I was serving, I topped it off with a shot of rum too)
  • 1c mint simple syrup (heat 1c sugar/1c water/1/2 c fresh mint)
  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional)

Chill in the fridge for at least two hours – overnight is even better.

Serve over ice and top it off with seltzer. I used pomegranate seltzer.

This is a loose guide, try different fruit, alcohol, seltzer, simple syrup flavors – have fun with it, it’s very hard to mess up!
