What can I say, I am officially a Peloton advocate, believer, ambassador, cheerleader, etc. Basically, I am any word that describes someone that is completely head over heels for this bike AND Alex Toussaint (his classes, that is) but I will save that for another post ;).
I wanted to write this review once I hit a 30-day streak but yesterday I made 25 rides and a 3-week ride streak. I am so proud of myself because I can’t remember the last time I have worked out every single day for three weeks straight, probably because it has never happened! I consider myself to be the least likely Peloton convert because as I have mentioned before, I love going to the gym. Lifetime Fitness is my jam, I love everything about it and find nothing more enjoyable than the energy that you find in a gym setting. That hasn’t changed but the biggest challenge these days is that we have moved further from the gym, we have a new addition to the family, my job is very demanding, and my boys are involved in numerous after-school activities. Probably similar to many of you reading this leading crazy busy lives and trying to find time to take care of yourself too.
As committed as I want to be, the Peloton has provided me the opportunity to ‘get it in where it fits in’ on that particular day. With short rides and long rides and so many classes, it has been the perfect solution to maintain my fitness goals at this season in my life.
One of the words that I have set intention behind this year is discipline. Discipline in taking care of myself, discipline in my daily routine, discipline in my thoughts and actions, etc. The Peloton bike has been a part of establishing that discipline for myself and for that I am grateful.
And because I love sharing the things I love in hopes they can help someone else, I had to write this review and share a few reasons why I love the Peloton so much! I know it’s not just me because the reason I got this bike is because so many of you were and have been so committed to your goals because of this bike. I see you, I see your results, and I am so inspired!
My ‘why Peloton’ spiel…
1. Even on the days I don’t feel like working out, I can get on for a five-minute ride and still feel accomplished. Now I haven’t ‘only’ done a 5-minute ride and that’s because once I get on, I want to keep going. But the fact that it is an option helps.
2. I have found that the inspiration and motivation provided by the instructors are amazing! The affirmations that they consistently provide stay with you and get all in your spirit. There was a moment when I was working on something and heard Tunde in my head saying ‘don’t make yourself small, to make others comfortable’ and I literally changed my approach in that situation. In just a short time, it has been life-changing and life-affirming in a way that I truly hadn’t anticipated.
3. I feel incredible mentally and physically and look forward to getting on that bike every day. Not sure how long that will last but I am committed to taking it one day at a time.
4. It’s no fun accomplishing your fitness goals alone. So, one thing that has me really excited these days is the fact that my husband has hopped on the bike and joined me on this journey too. He did it begrudgingly and made his leaderboard name ‘mywifesaidso22’. Lol! I will take it!
5. Against my general rules about various things in my bedroom, this is where I put my bike. I have found this to be the best decision I could have made. It has made it easier for me to maintain my goals and not create all the excuses that I know I can come up with in my head. It’s right there…in my face and easy for me to put on my workout clothes and hop in the shower right after. Now when I get that Peloton tread (because I will!), I hope to have established a true daily routine that it won’t matter where the bike is! For now though, this is what works best for me.
6. The Peloton community is awesome. And specifically, the Black Peloton community on Facebook is incredible, specifically #BPR (Black Peloton Riders) and #BlackGirlMagic. Even when I am mindlessly scrolling, I come across the posts from this community and am instantly reminded of my goals and feel inspired to get it in for the day.
7. As simple as it sounds. The badges for various accomplishments on the bike really do inspire me to keep going. As a wife, mom, and boss, I am always encouraging others, giving medals so to speak, it’s nice to get my own medals too.
8. If you love music and it inspires your workouts, the playlists on these rides are fire! I particularly go straight for the hip hop rides, they do not disappoint.
Thanks to all of you that have encouraged and inspired me by simply posting your own journey and milestones, it makes a world of a difference. I hope this post inspires someone else. Go get it!
*Let me know if you want a free 60 day guest pass to try out the app, happy to send it to you! Even if you don’t buy the bike you can use the app for workouts (yoga, meditation, stretching, strength training, walking, etc.) on your own.

I am on WordPress trolling for posts about Peloton. I came across this. So . . . how are you doing? Still at it? Your husband’s LB name made me laugh. Cheers to you and your Peloton journey! YAY!
